OneTel changes wholesale broadband provider

Easynet the local loop unbundling company (LLU) is to provide OneTel with wholesale broadband. OneTel whose previous wholesale broadband provider was BT will join Easynet's own ISP , UK Online, in receiving wholesale LLU services.

UK Online provides the UK's fastest home broadband service 8Mb - delivered over Easynet's network of unbundled local exchanges, covering more than 4.4 million homes across Britain. UK Online also offer 2Mb and 1Mb services delivered via both the Easynet and BT Wholesale networks.

OneTel should be able to offer customers download speeds of up to 8Mb. Around 20,000 of OneTel's customers look set to join the Easynet network and be unhooked from BT's.

OneTel has approximately 70,000 broadband customers.
